Forbidden Love is a tale of love and great friendship through adversity during the hardships of war.
Daisy Peters is a working-class girl from Luton in Bedfordshire who has struggled to gain her school qualifications; her parents have sacrificed much to help their daughter realise her dreams.
On the other hand, Lizzie (Lady Elizabeth) Fenton has had no such struggles. Boarding school educated and stinking rich, she is looking to escape her oppressive mother, who has arranged for her to marry Charles.
On the first day of September in 1939, the day Britain declares war on Germany, these two girls find themselves sharing a room at The London Hospital in Whitechapel.
